House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) added evidence to the notion that the Democrat Party is splitting apart over calls for a cease fire to be imposed between the Israeli military and Palestinians.

In an interview Wednesday, Hoyer said the only way to ease tensions is if Israel eliminates the threat of Hamas and that the Jewish State has a moral duty to protect its citizens He continued, saying the ceasefire is pointless as Hamas does not respond to requests. The Democrat added, they were the ones who initiated these indiscriminate attacks.

“Frankly, terrorist organizations are very difficult to negotiate with and a terror org. like Hamas that doesn’t wants Israel to exist has no reason to negotiate,” Hoyer stated. “I’m not sure how you get a terror org. to honor or pursue a ceasefire…I think if Hamas stops the Israelis will stop.”

The Housel Majority leader noted, the U.S. would respond the same way as Israel if the threat were made against America.
